08/23/24 Dream: I had a dream I was watching this long video on 3DS emulator specs vs the actual system, and it made me a bit sad because it reminded me of the fact that i still have the actual system. I remember commenting that it made me feel like an old lady, and that back in my day I always played on the actual system. After which, I got a ton of notifications and all of the new school kids made fun of me in the replies, and started calling me a curmudgeon and roasting me. Even more harrowing, I had to admit to myself that the emulator even looked better in some parts, despite the pain it caused me. I remember the video kept going for a long while, until last thing I saw was an image of 4K ultra HD super Mario 3D land, and then the gameplay got soft locked because the accelerometer of the 3DS wasn’t working within the emulator. After that, I woke up into the real world in a sad state. FIN.
This dream may reflect a sense of nostalgia and resistance to change in your waking life. The 3DS emulator and actual system comparison symbolize a conflict between holding onto the past and embracing the present or future. Feeling like an "old lady" and reminiscing about how things used to be could indicate a fear of aging or a reluctance to adapt to new technologies or ways of doing things.
The notifications from new school kids making fun of you and calling you names like "curmudgeon" may represent a fear of being judged or criticized for not conforming to societal norms or expectations. It could also suggest a fear of being left behind or feeling out of touch with current trends.
The part where the emulator looks better in some aspects despite the pain it causes you may signify a realization that change can bring improvements, even if it means letting go of familiar or cherished ways of doing things. The soft lock in the gameplay due to the emulator not working properly could symbolize a fear of technological glitches or disruptions in your life when trying something new or different.
Overall, this dream may be prompting you to examine your attitudes towards change, technology, and the passage of time. It could be a reminder to embrace progress and be open to new experiences, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone.
